TPA Badging/Access Control Office – Location/Hours/Phone

  • Office Location: The Badging Office at Tampa International Airport is located on Level 3 of the Main Terminal, down the hallway between the Blue Armstrong elevators and the Airside F Shuttle.
  • Office Hours: Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM  –  3:30 PM.  Closed for lunch from 11:30 AM  – 12:30 PM.  After-hours appointments are available when operationally possible.

Identification/Media Fees

  • New/Renewal Badges: $60.00
  • Lost Badges: $300.00 for Construction and Concessionaires. All other are $100.00
  • For those companies without a billing agreement only Credit Cards will be accepted.

  • Application forms are required for issuances of identification media.
  • Applications must be filled out electronically, printed single sided, and signed by both the applicant and the Employer’s Authorized Signatory.

Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessments

  • All applicants that are applying for new or renewing an identification badge, must undergo a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
  • All new applicants requesting unescorted access to the Sterile or Secured areas of the airport are required to undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and will be electronically fingerprinted.
  • Once the results are received for the STA and the CHRC, the employer will be notified by the Badging office that the employee’s identification badge is ready for issuance.

Disqualifying Crimes

  • If you have ever pleaded guilty or nolo-Contendere (“no contest”) to, had an adjudication withheld, been convicted or found not guilty by reason of insanity, in any jurisdiction, during the last 10 years, of any of the following crimes under Title 49 CFR 1542.209 and 1544.229: o
    • Violence at international airports
    • Felony involving willful destruction of property
    • Felony involving a threat
    • Felony involving importation or manufacture of a controlled substance
    • Felony involving burglary o Felony involving theft o Felony involving dishonesty, fraud, or misrepresentation
    • Felony involving possession or distribution of stolen property
    • Felony involving aggravated assault
    • Felony involving bribery
    • Felony involving illegal possession of a controlled substance punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of more than 1 year.
    • Forgery of certificates, false making of aircraft and other aircraft registration violations
    • Interference with air navigation
    • Improper transportation of a hazardous material
    • Aircraft piracy o Interference with flight crew members or flight attendants
    • Commission of certain crimes aboard an aircraft in flight
    • Carrying a weapon or explosive aboard an aircraft
    • Conveying false information and threats
    • Aircraft piracy outside the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States
    • Lighting violations involving transporting controlled substances
    • Unlawful entry into an aircraft or airport area that serves air carriers or foreign air carriers contrary to established security requirements
    • Destruction of an aircraft or aircraft facility
    • Murder
    • Assault with intent to murder
    • Espionage
    • Sedition
    • Kidnapping or hostage taking
    • Treason
    • Rape or aggravated sexual abuse
    • Unlawful possession, use, sale, distribution, or manufacture of an explosive or weapon
    • Extortion
    • Armed or felony unarmed robbery
    • Distribution of, or intent to distribute a controlled substance
    • Felony arson
    • Conspiracy or attempt to commit any of the aforementioned criminal acts.
