General Aviation
Tampa International Airport relies on two fixed-base operators on the airport campus and three small airports elsewhere in Hillsborough County to serve the general aviation activities of the community. The three off-campus airports also form a reliever airport network to allow for safe, efficient and timely commercial operations at Tampa International.
The General Aviation facilities at Tampa International Airport and its three reliever airports offer a variety of services and amenities to meet your business and leisure flying needs:
Tampa International Airport (TPA)
Two full-service fixed-based operators – Signature Flight Support and Sheltair – at Tampa International Airport are located adjacent to International Plaza, an upscale shopping mall and a short drive from Raymond James Stadium.
Special features at Signature Flight Support include on-site rental cars, gourmet catering, linen service, aircraft detailing, and a workstation with Internet access.
Sheltair offers personal and rental car valet service, aircraft and auto detailing, a private lounge with a shower, free Internet access and a quiet room with zero-gravity chairs.
Peter O. Knight Airport (TPF)
Operated by Atlas Aviation, Peter O. Knight Airport is located on Davis Islands, just five minutes from downtown Tampa, The Florida Aquarium, Amalie Arena (formerly Tampa Bay Times Forum) and Tampa Convention Center, and a short drive from Busch Gardens, world-class shopping, museums and local attractions. Services include scenic aerial tours of the Tampa Bay area.
Plant City Airport (PCM)
Plant City Airport serves both the leisure and corporate airport industry in eastern Hillsborough County. Located in a rich agricultural area best known for its strawberries and the world-famous Plant City Strawberry Festival, the airport also hosts the annual Planes, Trains and Automobiles event. Situated near Interstate 4, this facility offers easy driving to the annual Lakeland Sun 'n Fun Fly-In and Orlando-area theme parks and attractions. It’s operated by Atlas Aviation. Services include courtesy transportation, rental cars, Internet access, airplane rental and aerial tours.
Tampa Executive Airport (VDF)
Tampa Executive Airport is located near the Interstate 4/Interstate 75 corridor, just minutes from the Florida State Fairgrounds, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and the Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheater and, a 15-minute drive from downtown Tampa. It’s operated by Skyport Aviation. Services include rental cars and a flight school.
