Real Estate

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Real Estate Department oversees two primary real estate functions:  Airline Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate.  The main goal of the real estate department is to provide guidance to the Authority by offering strategic planning and advisory services to commercial and private aircraft operators, aircraft support, and non-aeronautical tenants on how they can partner with the Authority.

Airline Real Estate (ARE) is responsible for managing all real estate activities that affect airline operations at Tampa International Airport. This includes overseeing partnerships between the airport and airlines, ensuring that the necessary facilities for airline operations are provided. ARE manages over 70 relationships and collaborates closely with stakeholders such as air carriers, ground handlers, flight kitchens, TSA, and CBP to establish safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team oversees real estate matters beyond the main terminal at TPA and the general aviation airports.  CRE manages over 3,300 acres and one million square feet of improvements with approximately 60 tenants that encompasses undeveloped land, commercial buildings, FBOs, private hangers and public owned companies.  The CRE team optimizes the value of HCAA’s real estate assets through joint venture developing, lease analysis and negotiations, contract management, entitlements through licenses and easements, and strategic planning for capital projects.
