Master Plan Phase 2

Phase 2 of Tampa International Airport's Master Plan expansion helps enable the Airport to better manage its passenger while preparing for the future. The expansion, which broke ground in early 2019, includes 16 new express curbsides for passengers without checked baggage and a 35-acre commercial development around the Rental Car Center. The development area includes a new office building, convenience store with gas station, hotel as well as a commercial curb to accommodate transit and other ground transportation. Phase 2 also includes new connections to regional trail networks as well as a new Central Utility Plant and other projects designed to help to handle greater passenger volumes. Phase 3 of the expansion features a new Airside D with 16 gates capable of handling both domestic and international flights, and international passenger processing facilities.

Together, TPA's three phase Master Plan allow the Airport to serve 34 million passengers annually while remaining in the same footprint.
